Linzer Cookies

This recipe came from Gourmet magazine's Dec. 05 issue, and I'm quite pleased with the results. The cookies are just barely sweet, with a wintry hazelnut flavor. I used some seedless raspberry butter for the filling, and though the Gourmet recipe doesn't call for it, I sifted powdered sugar over the top cookies (I think this must be an oversight on the mag's part b/c the accompaning photo shows snowy tops).

Yum. My home address for receiving goody boxes is ....

Kidding about that, but they look and sound wonderful.

Hope you won't mind if I also comment here on an earlier post. (lentil soup) Something you said really rang a bell with me. I find myself oddly proud when I put something together in a hurry, with items on hand. Perhaps it's a nod to our survival/preparedness skills.

I certainly had a chance to test mine after Katrina (w/o power).

Did someone say "hazelnut"???!!! I'm so there!

I assume these are from Austra, with the name. Hmmm...might be interesting to do some research.
